Blues, Country-Rock, Original Songs, Rock n’ Roll and pretty much anything that grabs them. Much to the frustration of those wishing to pigeon hole them, The Jacquie Young Band just won’t comply. The closest description would be to say they have strong leanings towards blues influenced music, but really it’s simply about playing what they personally like and what they hope the audience will also enjoy.
Led creatively by lead singer Jacquie Young, there have been some great moments, since the band began back in 2006. Appearances at The Brighton Festival, along side Nashville singer Garry Jackson, invitations to perform at The Arundel Festival in 2010 and 2011, multiple performances at venues around Sussex, and several recordings of original songs and timeless classics. The band has also performed at private functions, as well as corporate and charity events.
The band line up has changed over the years but several of the original members still remain. Jacquie Young, vocals, Graham Cleveland, electric guitar, and Tony Willcox Bass guitar, being the longest standing musicians with Chris Godfrey acoustic/slide guitar, and Barry Wright on drums joining the others a few years ago.
Any enquiries for future performances are welcome, so if you would like to know more about the band please contact by email via this website or via Facebook – The Jacquie Young Band page
